We could play a little truth or dare, We could find a diamond in your hair, We could travel on the road to hell, I would give you my heart if I could, I would give everything if I could Did the sun come up too soon? Did you want to fly around the moon? Did you have a fight and lose your cool? I would give you my heart if I could, I would do anything if I could If I could Say you would be mine Say you could be mine, you could be mine Say you would be mine All your towers may tumble around you, I will build you a house out of wood, If you're feeling alone on this highway, I'll walk beside you until kingdom come, Take the solar express to wherever, I will buy you a star when we're there...

about

For the first time since the band ended their multi-year hiatus, Just a Band revisit nine of their favourite old compositions and grooves from an oeuvre of sounds stretching back to their first album release in 2008, as well as introducing new single Watasema from the band's forthcoming music projects.

Featuring the band’s softer ballads like Probably for Lovers and Hey! alongside deep cuts such as Thank You/Rebel and a Cause and Away, echo situates Just a Band's career-defining catalogue of sounds into a feedback loop of ideas, memory and images reflecting back and forth through time and space.

about

Just a Band Nairobi, Kenya

Just a Band are Blinky Bill, Dan Muli, Jim Chuchu and Mbithi Masya. The Kenyan outfit began making music in 2008, coming to be known for their genre-bending sounds and playful music videos. Just a Band reunited in 2020; older, still starry-eyed, charging forward on new voyages in sound and sight. ... more
